Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center opened as a single practitioner office in 1977 by Dr. Robert Hatcher. The practice has experienced steady growth ever since, adding Dr. Kirk Woelffer in 1999, Dr. Alan Boehm, Jr. in 2006, Dr. Jordan Meyers in 2014, Dr. Alyssa Carroll in 2018, Dr. Devin Grant and Dr. Brittany Brower in 2019.
After 41 years of podiatry, Dr. Hatcher retired in March 2018. Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center moved to its Millbrook Road location in 1994 and added a second location on Blue Ridge Road in fall 2015. A Holly Springs location replaced the office on Blue Ridge Road and is seeing patients.
In January of 2021 Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center combined with Family Foot & Ankle Specialists in their newest location on Wake Forest Rd. We are excited to have Douglas C. Smith, DPM and Patrick J. Dougherty, DPM as part of out team. Our new location boasts 22 exam rooms and has 7 salon chairs for our nail care clients.
Podiatrists in Raleigh Wake Forest are the official foot & ankle doctors for both the men’s and women’s professional soccer teams– North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage— as well as the company consultant for the Carolina Ballet. We treat patients in our office and surgery center, and volunteer at Open Door Clinic, Alliance Medical Ministry, international trips, health fairs and fundraising events.
Our doctors are on call 24 hours, 7 days a week. We have an on-site nail care salon at both of our two locations, which provides safe, sterile, and doctor-supervised pedicures.

Directions
Our Wake Forest Road office is located in North Raleigh on Wake Forest Road, just north of Duke Raleigh Hospital. The nearest intersection is Wake Forest Road and Dresser Court. Turn on Dresser Court at the Raleigh Hand and Shoulder. We are near North Raleigh, Millbrook, Knightdale, and Morrisville.
We provide easy access to care with a central location on the bus route, handicap-accessible, wheelchair available, private rooms and HIPAA compliant services.

Dr. Smith was very attentive, obviously knowledgable, and explained the problem and options for treatment very clearly. When a treament plan was decided, it was carried out efficiently (with appropriate warning for the pain). It is a great bonus that he is also a pleasant person to talk to. Even after a quite painful cortisone shot, I am very happy with his care !

Both doctor and nurse were patient with my follow up questions, which I appreciate. I always feel comfortable with Dr Carroll and have been very happy with treatment protocols.

I am lucky to be seeing the doctor I am for laser treatments as it is an uncomfortable/embarrassing thing to show and my doctor always makes me feel comfortable! Talkative, nice, and helpful every time! I will only book her each appointment! :)

Dr Boehm was very professional and thorough in his prognosis. He answered all of my questions. Within an hour after leaving the office my gout pain in my toe was reduced from a pain threshold of a 10 to a 2. This morning I have 0 pain.
