FASMA Podiatrists Attend APMA Annual Meeting

ROCKVILLE, MD (August 2015) – Several Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC podiatrists attended the APMA 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting in July.  While attending the national conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida, Seth A. Rubenstein (Reston Division) and David J. Freedman (Silver Spring/Olney Division) congratulated PM Magazine Hall of Fame inductee Richard Bloch, Esq.  Mr. Bloch is the Executive Director of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association. FASMA doctors Drs. Priya Parthasarathy (Silver Spring/White Oak) and Ashleigh E. Korves (Annapolis and Clarksville divisions) were also in attendance for the award ceremony.

The week-long conference is the premier summit for podiatric medical professionals all over the United States. In addition to the awards ceremony, the conference offers training workshops, demonstrations, and specialty tracks. Dr. Freedman attended lectures on dermatology and practice management  to act as a resource for FASMA on the standard of care due to the increasing number of skin cancers.  Dr. Priya Parthasarathy (Silver Spring/White Oak Division), who serves as Young Physicians Liaison to the APMA Board of Trustees, moderated the APMA Young Physicians’ Program Scientific Sessions, which included discussion topics such as student debt management, compliance, and biomechanics and DME.  Dr. Ashleigh E. Korves (Annapolis and Clarksville Divisions) was also in attendance at various lectures.

Prior to the start of the Annual Scientific Meeting, the APMA Board and staff held a meeting to discuss the business of the association.  During the scientific sessions, Dr. Rubenstein was involved with corporate development activities and support of the legislative advocacy department at the APMA booth in the exhibit hall, as chairman of the APMA Legislative Committee and a member of the APMA Board of Trustees.  After the APMA Annual Scientific meeting concluded, the Board of Trustees remained for a two day strategic planning session, which included discussion of the APMA’s vision, mission statement and goals.
