Charlottesville Annual Shoe Drive

Charlottesville, VA podiatrist, Dr. Samuel Schustek is this year’s co-chair of the Let Someone Fill Your Shoes campaign. Together, the Salvation Army of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Podiatry Association have been collecting donated shoes to distribute to those in need for 28 years. During the month of January, gently used shoes will be collected for distribution at the Salvation Army on February 23rd. Approximately 30 years ago, the APMA started a National campaign for collecting shoes for the homeless. Dr. David Levine Discusses Post-Op Orthoses in Podiatry Today

In the December 2018 issue 12 volume 31 of Podiatry Today, Dr. David Levine responds to questions regarding Post-Op Orthoses in an expert four panelist Q&A. Dr. Levine discuses for which conditions he recommends post-op orthoses and the type of benefits patients should expect to see. Dr. David Freedman, a founding member and Vice President of Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, is featured on MoCo365. This initiative highlights businesses from all sectors of Montgomery County, Maryland with the purpose of showing the diversity of the area through the stories of successful leaders, entrepreneurs, and inventors. While FASMA began in MoCo, it has expanded throughout the Mid-Atlantic with 35 offices reaching from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Congratulations to 9 of our doctors, who were declared the “Best of Washington” in the June 2018 issue of Washingtonian Magazine! APMA Video Interview with Dr. Rubenstein

Dr. Seth Rubenstein fields questions on Facebook regarding foot and ankle health. Dr. Rubenstein is the Vice President of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). Based on an APMA survey of over 1,200 US adults ages 18 to 75, over 75% of those who responded have had foot pain. Almost half of the respondents experienced more than one painful foot condition and over 81% of obese respondents have experienced foot pain. The APMA House of Delegates Meet in DC, Elects Seth Rubenstein, DPM as new VP

This year’s 98th House of Delegates meeting of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) in Washington, DC convened to vote on new officials of the House, the Board, and to plan and implement procedures and policies that will assist the advancement of podiatric medicine. Dr. Seth Rubenstein who previously served as the Treasurer, was elected as the Vice President of the APMA’s House of Delegates. The House of Delegates is the body of the APMA. FASMA Expands to Raleigh, NC

FASMA welcomes two new office locations and four new podiatric doctors in January with Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center joining our group. Dr. Robert Hatcher began the practice in 1977 as a solo practitioner. In 1999, Dr. Kirk Woelffer joined the practice. Later in 2006, Dr. Alan Boehm, Jr. was added and then Dr. Jordan Meyers in 2014. The office location was moved in 1994 to the current location on Millbrook Road and a second location on Blue Ridge Road was added in 2015. Drs.
