After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Daniel Yarmel obtained his doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Next, he completed four years of residency with extensive podiatric medical and surgical training at The University of Pennsylvania’s Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. The training focused on all areas of foot and ankle surgery, including elective and non-elective forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive procedures, trauma of the foot and ankle, diabetic limb preservation, and applications in internal and external fixation.

In 2006 Dr. Yarmel traveled to Venezuela for Operacion Caminar 3, a medical mission that evaluated and performed reconstructive surgical procedures on children with clubfoot and other severe deformities. He is published in peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery) and textbooks and has lectured nationally.

In 2009 Dr. Yarmel had the privilege to join his wife, Dr. Amber Treaster, in practice at Harrisburg Foot and Ankle Center. They are now both proud members of the FASMA (Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic) team, with local practice locations in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Newport, PA.

Dr. Yarmel serves as the UPMC Pinnacle Podiatric Surgical Residency Education Coordinator and Externship Director, where he holds monthly journal clubs and directs the residency cadaver lab.

He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is Board Certified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Specialties include all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Yarmel enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Treaster, and two wonderful kids participating in snowboarding, soccer, outdoor activities, and traveling.
