Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Podiatrist Dr. Priya Parthasarathy Featured in APMA Young Physicians’ Your APMA Magazine

Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC podiatrist Dr. Priya Parthasarathy (Silver Spring – White Oak Division) was featured in a recent APMA Young Physicians’ Your APMA Magazine article titled “Your Liaison to the APMA Board of Trustees: Priya Parthasarathy, DPM.”
Dr. Parthasarathy was recently named Young Physicians Liaison to the APMA Board of Trustees at the 2015 APMA House of Delegates Meeting in March. She will attend and participate in board meetings, while representing the interests of young physicians, for a two-year term.
“Being involved in this work, and the conversations around legislation and the lack of young physician involvement, has fueled me to want to make more of an impact on our profession. I feel this new position will allow me to help move our profession forward by providing a platform to focus on the needs of young physicians.”

Dr. Parthasarathy is a native of Toronto, Canada, where she received her undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo. She then obtained her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed three years’ post-graduate training at the Botsford Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Program in Michigan, where she was appointed Chief Resident. During her residency training, Dr. Parthasarathy was trained in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. This included advanced forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive and trauma surgery. She has also had extensive training in diabetic wound care, pediatric orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Parthasarathy has participated in pediatric surgical mission trips to Honduras, where she received additional training in congenital pediatric and neurological deformities, while providing much-needed care to the children of the community. She is a fitness enthusiast, an avid traveler, and enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle.
