Five Additional Doctors of Foot & Ankle Specialists now Board Certified
Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic (FASMA), one of the largest Podiatric groups in the United States, has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season as five more of their associate doctors are now certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. FASMA now possess 39 doctors that are board certified, the most of any Podiatric group in the area.
Certification from ABPM indicates that the Podiatric physician has been judged by her/his peers to have demonstrated, via a rigorous examination process, a fund of knowledge and competence in the areas being tested. Subject areas doctors are tested on are: Biomechanics, Orthopedics, Wound Care, Medicine, and Surgical Criteria. Exam completion is considered a step well beyond the mandatory education of the podiatrist or state requirements for licensure.
